Fix it, please

Lately my tummy has not been cooperating with me.

No matter what I eat, everything digestive has been generally awful. Enough to make me miserable. I even ended up in the hospital, with heartburn so severe I was having chest tightness and heart palpitations.

I’ve tried just about every OTC remedy there is - Maalox, Pepto-Bismol, Pepcid, Prilosec, probiotics, fiber supplements, you name it.

And why am I sticking with OTC? Because despite my ER visit and being a student at UVA, I can’t get an appointment with a GI doctor in the UVA health system - which, I might add, is pretty much the only place in Charlottesville that will take my UVA student health insurance. I am currently waiting for an appointment with a regular GP via Student Health, who may be able to provide me with a referral to a GI doctor, which I will then have to wait for, possibly for weeks.

This healthcare system is so, so very broken.
