in transition

I just realized the last 17 books I have read have all been by female authors, and that the ones I have been working on for months that have been sitting on my table unfinished are by male authors. Weird. I don’t know why that is. Just a coincidence, probably, but I am surprised that I accidentally read 17 books in a row by women when not thinking about the author’s gender at all. Do women and men write different types of books that fill different types of moods for different stages?
